TheRateNow exists to make one number easy to find: the honest, mid-market exchange rate between any two currencies. That single number is the benchmark that lets travelers, freelancers, importers and exporters see exactly what a bank, card or money-transfer service is really charging them — because the difference between the mid-market rate and the rate you're offered is the cost.
We keep the tool deliberately simple: a fast converter, a full rate table for 100+ currencies, and a blog with practical guidance drawn from real cross-border business experience. No registration, no paywall, no upsells. The site is supported by advertising.
Where the data comes from
Exchange-rate data is supplied by Exchange Rate API, a professional rate feed aggregating data from central banks and commercial sources. Rates are refreshed regularly throughout the day. They are reference rates for informational purposes — see our disclaimer for details.
The person behind the site
Eky holds a degree in International Relations from the University of Brasília and has spent more than a decade building and running cross-border businesses — including a language-services company operating across the United States, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Colombia, Peru and New Zealand, and a consulting practice that helps international entrepreneurs establish U.S. companies. Currency conversion, international invoicing and cross-border payments are part of his daily work, and TheRateNow grew out of the tools he wished existed when comparing rates across all those markets.
